00:09
path to self-discovery there are days
00:13
when it seems that we’ll never be able
00:17
to see the truth I like to talk about
00:21
self-discovery in very optimistic terms
00:23
I suggest that meditating will inspire
00:28
you open up new vistas and new horizons
00:33
bring you into different levels of
00:35
attention and show you worlds beyond
00:36
your imagination much happier worlds in
00:40
the worlds you now existent worlds of
00:43
form formlessness voidness I speak about
00:47
the ecstasy of Samadhi in the
00:48
superconscious states the peaks of
00:53
self-realization eternity is everywhere
00:57
it’s always with us our failure to see
01:01
and access the pure joy and radiance of
01:03
life is owing to a lack of awareness in
01:09
any situation there is beauty even at
01:15
the moment of one’s death there is
01:17
beauty and we can see that beauty and
01:20
understand the loving kindness of
01:23
creation when were in a high enough
01:25
consciousness then everything is one and
01:30
what occurs in the physical world is but
01:33
a dream we’re not affected by it it
01:36
doesn’t really matter if our fortune is
01:38
good or bad if we were in a high enough
01:40
state of consciousness we see that it is
01:42
only a passing dream we draw happiness
01:45
and radiance from the eternal Sun of
01:47
self-knowledge from the pure bliss of
01:50
existence itself this is true but then
01:56
there are days when we don’t see it that
01:58
way there are days that in spite of our
02:02
best intentions we become confused
02:07
deluded frustrated
02:13
angry depressed we just can’t seem to
02:17
raise our Kundalini or energy the past
02:23
overshadows the present and the future
02:26
looms before us as an empty road through
02:31
what appears to be a barren desert we
02:36
try all of the traditional methods and
02:38
means the four paths the path of love we
02:43
try to love but it’s not working the
02:46
path of selfless giving where we really
02:47
want to go out and do something for the
02:49
world for Humanity for our spiritual
02:51
organization it’s not working
02:54
we’re not inspired we can think the
02:57
thoughts but they lack heart
02:59
well we practice mysticism we try and
03:02
raise the level of attention through
03:04
drawing on the power and energies of the
03:06
elementals of the earth and the ether it
03:09
doesn’t seem to be working
03:10
Jonnie yoga the highest form
03:13
discrimination it seems empty barren
03:16
lacking an emotion when everything has
03:20
failed you when it seems that none of
03:22
the paths are good which they are but it
03:25
doesn’t seem that way at the time what
03:29
does one do when you’ve seen all the
03:32
best movies in town you tried all the
03:36
best people in the neighbourhood you’ve
03:39
pushed yourself through a mirage of
03:41
sexual experiences creative experiences
03:46
work experiences love experiences drug
03:51
experiences whatever it may be you’ve
03:54
tried everything and still come away
04:00
with a feeling of emptiness but not the
04:03
higher emptiness loneliness sadness a
04:07
feeling for this is accentuated by the
04:11
knowledge of what could be you see
04:14
enough to know how beautiful and perfect
04:15
life can be you’ve had moments where
04:18
you’ve seen it you’ve touched it but now
04:21
it’s faded away which makes it all the
04:23
worse you know
04:25
you’re feeling sorry for yourself but it
04:28
doesn’t seem that you can extricate
04:30
yourself from the trap of feeling sorry
04:32
for yourself you know you should be self
04:37
giving you shouldn’t be worried about
04:38
your state or your condition that it’s
04:40
all relative but it still doesn’t matter
04:41
at the moment you hurt and that’s what
04:44
matters what can you do when all the
04:47
remedies fail both spiritual and worldly
04:52
what can you do well at such a time
04:58
there is a form of yoga that you can
05:01
practice that will enable you to destroy
05:07
everything including yourself and your
05:11
conceptions and from this destruction
05:14
will arise a creation a new force and
05:17
energy will enter your life this yoga is
05:22
I suppose the most dangerous of the
05:27
yoga’s but then again you get to a point
05:32
where it really doesn’t matter one can
05:36
get to a point where nothing is working
05:38
we’re headed off the cliff plummeting to
05:42
the bottom so why not try one last thing
05:47
when you’ve sunk as low as you can get
05:49
or so you think because there’s no end
05:52
but the depths to which you can fall as
05:53
there is no end to the heights to which
05:55
you can rise when you feel as my
06:00
grandfather used to say lower than a
06:02
snake’s ass at such a moment when
06:07
everything and nothing works it is the
06:10
time to practice Tantra Tantra is the
06:16
left-handed path meaning it is the road
06:22
less taken Tantra comes
06:31
from the far east and it has to do with
06:36
the pairs of opposites and opposition’s
06:40
it is a difficult dealer to practice in
06:43
the sense that when you practice Tantra
06:46
it’s very easy to not practice Tantra
06:50
and think you’re practicing Tantra
06:52
practicing Tantra itself is never
06:55
dangerous or problematic the only
06:58
problem that occurs in the practice of
07:00
Tantra is when you don’t practice Tantra
07:04
but you think you’re practicing Tantra
07:06
and you fool yourself and you get caught
07:10
up in powerful vortexes of negative
07:13
energy which pull you into the lower
07:15
Bardo regions of awareness down into the
07:18
mud so what can one do at such a time
07:26
well before I enter into a discussion of
07:31
Tantra here and take up more of your
07:32
time I’d like to tell you what Tantra is
07:36
not Tantra is not sexual yoga when the
07:46
word Tantra is used in the West very
07:48
often people immediately associated with
07:50
some kind of sexual yoga and which you
07:53
use sex as a vehicle for attaining
07:56
enlightenment sex can never bring about
07:58
enlightenment only enlightenment brings
08:00
about enlightenment the tantras are the
08:05
ancient sacred books of Indian Tibet and
08:07
the Tantra is detail specific means for
08:13
attaining liberation when I speak of
08:16
Tantra yoga I’m speaking of a type of
08:19
yoga that is best practiced by persons
08:22
who live in society it’s a yoga for the
08:29
last Yuga
08:34
Tantra means the avoidance of a setter
08:40
defined form of spirituality Tantra is
08:47
intuitive self-discovery which initially
08:51
sounds very good and very attractive we
08:55
feel that the path of love the path of
08:58
mysticism the path of self giving the
09:00
path of knowledge the four paths are
09:02
very demanding and they are and then of
09:05
course there is the fifth path that I
09:08
respect but do not teach and that’s the
09:11
path of asceticism Tantra is the sixth
09:15
path it’s a hidden path only because
09:22
people don’t look where it is
09:26
Tantra appears to be fluid it appears
09:33
that we don’t need the discipline
09:35
required in the other path so if one is
09:39
somewhat lazy it immediately seems like
09:41
a great idea boy I’ll practice Tantra
09:42
and I don’t have to go through all those
09:44
other forms and practice all those
09:47
different methods and so on the session
09:51
motivation will not bring you success
09:53
with Tantra Tantra is for the desperate
09:55
unless you’ve really experienced pain
09:58
and suffering Tantra won’t work unless
10:02
you’ve really experienced exultation and
10:04
ecstasy
10:05
Tantra won’t work Tantra is for
10:07
extremists but balanced extremists
10:14
Tantra is not for the person who is
10:16
lacking in self control Tantra is for
10:19
the person who has self-control but
10:23
doesn’t care anymore that is to say the
10:28
person who is able to abandon
10:30
self-control and it’s fixation Tantra is
10:37
not for the weak Tantra is for the very
10:40
very strong practitioner and it is only
10:43
recommended for someone who has a very
10:46
developed willpower a terrific sense of
10:49
humor and a sense that nothing else
10:53
matters but God and self-realization
10:57
it’s only with those understandings that
11:00
we can readily approach the subject of
11:01
Tantra again I suggest that Tantra is
11:06
for the person who is pure in heart if
11:09
you still have greedy desires if you
11:11
still think that material success will
11:13
bring you happiness if you think that
11:15
worldly possessions will fulfill you
11:18
relationships people places and things
11:21
fame fortune all of those things if
11:24
those things still matter to you you
11:27
definitely should not practice Tantra
11:29
Tantra is for the person who has reached
11:31
the point in their spiritual practice
11:33
where they realize that these things are
11:38
not important but still in spite of that
11:42
knowledge and firm belief from the heart
11:47
not just because it sounds nice but you
11:49
really feel that way all the way through
11:51
your being and you ache for God you egg
11:54
for liberation but still in spite of
11:56
that you find yourself getting stuck
11:58
that’s the candidate for Tantra Tantra
12:02
is for someone who practices all the
12:03
paths because all the paths are
12:06
encompassed in Tantra so Tantra is a way
12:12
that can only be practiced by someone
12:15
who’s truly truly dedicated literally
12:17
fanatical but at the same time who is
12:20
not caught up in the trap of fanaticism
12:22
a person who has dedicated their life to
12:28
self-realization not in name but in
12:31
action someone who is actually ready to
12:34
travel to the farthest ends of the earth
12:36
for truth and will actually do it and
12:38
will leave everything family home
12:40
whatever for truth but in spite of that
12:45
feeling in spite of that readiness when
12:48
still is getting snared again and again
12:51
by one’s own games by one’s desires by
12:57
one’s desire for liberation
13:03
how does Tantra work well
13:06
Tantra has to do with the reconciliation
13:10
of the pairs of opposites a bit of
13:13
spiritual theory the paths that leap to
13:18
self-realization set down prescribed
13:23
methods and ways and if you’ve listened
13:26
to my discourses on the four yoga’s
13:28
you’re familiar with the basic
13:31
principles of each of the yoga’s all the
13:37
four yoga’s however recommend that you
13:40
avoid certain experiences in Tantra
13:50
there is no avoidance all of the yoga’s
13:55
say that there is something right that
13:57
you should do that there are certain
14:00
practices that if you practice those
14:03
practices you will make spiritual
14:04
progress there are certain things if you
14:06
avoid them then you will make spiritual
14:09
progress you kind of combine the two and
14:11
each of the four paths shows the way
14:16
Tantra is different than that
14:19
Tantra would certainly acknowledge and
14:24
suggest that there are certain things
14:26
that are helpful and those things would
14:30
include all of the recognised and
14:33
established methods of self-realization
14:35
so Tantra is not at all in disagreement
14:42
with meditation self-giving purity and
14:49
humility all of these things of course
14:50
are understood and accepted Tantra
14:53
simply changes one small factor and that
14:57
is that there’s nothing that you
14:59
shouldn’t do everything can be used as a
15:04
tool for liberation
15:06
the basic assumption of Tantra is that
15:11
God not only exists
15:13
in the supra-conscious reality which
15:16
everyone is trying so hard to get to in
15:21
spiritual discovery but Tantra excuse me
15:25
God also exists in the lowest forms of
15:31
existence in the darkest regions and
15:34
confines of the human consciousness God
15:37
exists there as much as any place else
15:39
just in a different form in Tantra one
15:44
does not seek experiences that most
15:48
people would consider to be unspiritual
15:50
and try and see truth in them that has
15:53
nothing to do with Tantra in Tantra we
16:01
don’t try to guide our life in a
16:04
specific way we let the winds of
16:07
existence blow us where they will our
16:12
concern is not so much in directing our
16:14
life as in living our life and observing
16:18
and seeing that every experience that
16:20
life gives us every situation that were
16:23
put into is a pathway to perfection
16:36
in this world we see the pairs of
16:40
opposites ultimately there are no
16:45
opposition’s in the superconscious
16:49
awareness there is no division from that
16:53
perspective list perspective there’s
16:54
only eternity in all of its radiant
16:58
perfection from the point of view of the
17:01
mind the relative world there are pairs
17:04
of opposites dark light
17:06
hot cold pleasure and pain and so on
17:13
most forms of yoga counsel the spiritual
17:17
aspiring to not get involved with the
17:21
physical world to not get too caught up
17:25
in it rather instead what one should do
17:28
is to fixate one’s attention on the
17:32
subtle physical and on the voidness of
17:35
Nirvana to become absorbed in God and to
17:40
ignore the world in the path of Tantra
17:46
we enjoy the opposites because we don’t
17:50
see them as opposites but rather as
17:53
either compliments or as one in the same
17:59
in Tantra we accelerate our spiritual
18:04
progress by not trying a person who
18:11
practices Tantra yoga will naturally
18:12
meditate will practice selfless giving
18:21
so when I say not trying I don’t mean
18:23
that you won’t meditate every day or
18:28
that you won’t give from the heart
18:31
Tantra is not for the lazy
18:38
it just means that on a dark day in a
18:41
dark time in a dark world in a dark
18:43
moment you can actually use that
18:47
darkness you can use that depressive
18:50
force you can use that frustration that
18:54
delusion to propel you into the heart of
19:03
light into God how is it done
19:18
tantra and adventure are very very
19:24
connected perhaps the greatest enemy for
19:33
one who’s journeying along the spiritual
19:35
path after you’ve overcome doubt fear
19:37
anxiety and so on after you have your
19:40
house in order and you’ve taken charge
19:44
of your life and your emotions perhaps
19:47
the greatest enemy is complacency I’ve
19:51
seen many of my students and also people
19:55
who I used to study with years ago do
19:57
very very well spiritually for a number
19:59
of years in the initial years of
20:02
self-discovery there’s great enthusiasm
20:03
and love you see your life changing
20:07
constantly but then you reach a point or
20:14
you may reach a point where things begin
20:18
to get a little dull in other words the
20:22
process of self-discovery has just
20:24
become another state of mind it isn’t
20:29
really
20:29
it never is but this is how we see it in
20:33
other words we’ve gotten stuck in our
20:34
self-discovery just as we were stuck in
20:39
the world Tantra is a means a way
20:52
of reconciling everything it’s neither
21:00
here nor there forward nor backward it’s
21:04
a state of awareness
21:14
the winds of eternity blow and in Tantra
21:21
we have complete faith in the winds of
21:22
eternity the key to Tantra yoga is to
21:27
feel that you are not the doer that you
21:35
cannot possibly act that anything that
21:40
you choose you didn’t really choose
21:44
eternity chose for you all that you have
21:49
to do in existence in life is to accept
22:03
in bhakti-yoga there’s a sense of I’m
22:06
loving God I’m serving God and karmayoga
22:09
there’s a sense of I’m working for the
22:11
welfare of others I see God in every one
22:13
and work for them in mysticism there’s a
22:16
sense of I am impeccable I am bringing
22:21
forth the powers of eternity and working
22:23
with them in Yana yoga there’s a sense
22:26
of non existence of the self I don’t
22:29
exist nothing exists the relative world
22:31
doesn’t exist all that is is nirvana in
22:34
Tantra there’s a sense of surrender true
22:38
all of the yoga’s do lead to this sense
22:40
the highest aspect of all the yoga’s
22:43
culminated in a sense of surrender to
22:44
eternity let thy will be done
22:47
but Tantra is really that way from the
22:50
beginning there’s a sense that what can
22:52
I do I’m a poor puny human being how can
22:54
I possibly attain liberation how can I
22:58
possibly rise above the samsara the
23:02
illusion of birth and death the pleasure
23:04
and pain here I am stuck in the middle
23:06
of the relative world in a traffic jam
23:08
and there’s nothing good on the radio
23:11
and I’m dying every day
23:15
my body’s aging my life didn’t turn out
23:18
the way I thought it would when I try to
23:22
feel and communicate this little feeling
23:24
and even less communication at that
23:28
point it’s necessary to break out of the
23:35
framework with which we view experience
23:41
so then in Tantra we come to feel that
23:48
that very frustration is the means that
23:51
eternity is using to break us out of our
23:54
conditioning if for example you feel
24:02
that you shouldn’t need an ice-cream
24:03
cone I don’t know why you’d feel that
24:05
way but if you feel that way and you
24:06
feel that it’s a very unspiritual thing
24:07
to do and yet you’re drawn to the
24:11
ice-cream cone and you find yourself
24:13
eating one in spite of your intent
24:18
if you follow any of the other paths
24:21
you’ll be miserable you’ll try and
24:22
accept it as an experience that God is
24:24
having through you but still you’ll know
24:25
that you failed in Tantra you’ll order a
24:29
hot fudge sundae and in every bite of
24:33
that hot fudge sundae you’ll see and
24:34
feel God vibrating the path of Tantra
24:41
doesn’t mean that you will go out every
24:42
day and seek out hot fudge sundaes but
24:46
whatever comes your way you will accept
24:50
as being normal natural and perfect
24:54
there are no rules for you to break
24:58
since everything is God and everything
25:01
contains God
25:02
you see God in everything everything is
25:04
a step towards liberation Tantra works
25:11
well for people who are engaged in
25:14
relationships and sexuality most of the
25:17
yoga’s say stay away from sex stay away
25:20
from relationships they’re a terrible
25:23
trap and indeed they are sex itself
25:27
meaning the experience of making love is
25:29
really not that much of a deal one where
25:30
the other very little energy is
25:32
transferred for most people however the
25:36
problem with sexuality are emotions
25:43
most people become emotionally involved
25:46
with someone when they have sex with
25:49
them and it brings up their ego their
25:54
attachments all kinds of illusions about
25:57
love and nasty things that will
26:00
ultimately make you very unhappy if you
26:03
listen to the songs in the radio you
26:05
will quickly ascertain that for everyone
26:08
song about the joys of love there’s a
26:10
hundred songs about the miseries of love
26:12
this is attached love sexual love it
26:16
always seems so promising in the
26:18
beginning but what happens is sexual
26:23
activity brings up everything in our
26:28
being that’s impure
26:30
remember sex itself is just an action
26:33
it’s just part of the dream it really
26:34
doesn’t matter my estimation of course
26:36
then again the principle path that I
26:39
follow is Tantra some days
26:50
many people have been somewhat confused
26:52
about my stance on sexuality and I
26:56
assure you if you think you’re confused
26:57
you should try it being me but you see I
27:04
think confusion is a wonderful state of
27:06
being we’re all in states of being
27:08
different parts of our being or in
27:10
states of being in confusion I think is
27:12
one of the finer states because a person
27:15
who’s confused is definitely making
27:17
spiritual progress the person who sees
27:19
life is being completely clear if you
27:22
understand everything everything is in a
27:25
state of balance you’re suffering from
27:27
complete illusion and delusion you fool
27:30
yourself into thinking that everything
27:32
is balanced nothing is balanced in the
27:34
universe the universe is completely
27:36
chaotic that’s what makes it work so
27:40
well it’s chaos is predictable it’s the
27:44
most orderly chaos that there is uniform
27:48
chaos is much more orderly than order
27:53
this is a perspective that a person who
27:56
practices Tantra has so sexuality then
28:05
for the person who practices Tantra is a
28:09
marvelous chance to experience illusion
28:15
illusion is just another way of seeing
28:17
things there are no illusions because
28:19
there is no self
28:22
everything is voidness and voidness is
28:25
just another illusion so why not why not
28:31
if you find yourself having sex pay no
28:37
attention to it why not if you find
28:43
yourself I don’t know whatever your
28:46
moral prescription is and when you do
28:48
the opposite why not realize that it
28:53
doesn’t matter
29:02
there are no rules nothing you can do
29:06
will take you to liberation therefore
29:08
nothing you avoid will help you along
29:11
the path to liberation what will
29:14
actually help in your realization is
29:17
this realization that there is nothing
29:22
that will bring you to liberation nor is
29:23
there anything that will hinder your
29:25
liberation everything is liberation
29:28
this is Tantra Tantra does not seek any
29:32
type of experience nor does it avoid it
29:39
the perspective of Tantra could be that
29:41
everything that I experience every day
29:43
from brushing my teeth to sleeping aids
29:51
me in my liberation because there is
29:54
nothing but liberation so who’s to say
29:56
what’s right and what’s wrong this is
29:59
why Tantra is such a difficult path to
30:01
follow
30:01
you see Tantra is not for a hedonist at
30:03
all it won’t work if you’re heavily
30:06
attracted to sensual experience
30:08
Tantra will definitely not be of any use
30:10
to you Tantra is for the person who has
30:16
gone beyond the rules they’ve learned
30:19
the rules so well and practice them for
30:21
so long then now they can go beyond them
30:26
you’re learning to play the piano you’re
30:29
learning the scales you learn to read
30:33
music and you practice for years and
30:35
years you follow all the rules finally a
30:38
day will come when you are so good
30:40
playing the piano that you can not
30:43
necessarily even break the rules you’re
30:45
not interested in breaking the rules but
30:46
just go beyond into unexplored territory
30:48
you can start to improvise that’s Tantra
30:53
improvisation now there are those who
30:57
are lazy they don’t want to learn the
30:59
scales they don’t want to practice they
31:04
can’t possibly employ Tantra Tantra is
31:07
for a person who has reached a point in
31:11
their spiritual evolution where
31:14
everything looks the same
31:17
such a person is free to do absolutely
31:21
anything since they see that the rules
31:24
no longer apply to them not because
31:26
they’re special but because the rules
31:27
were just another way of looking at life
31:31
in other words the ten commandments have
31:33
a social purpose for people who still
31:36
need a social purpose once you’ve gotten
31:38
to the point where you’re very very good
31:40
you don’t have to worry about
31:42
Commandments if your if your intentions
31:46
are noble and pure if you don’t want
31:47
anything but light and goodness
31:49
then it’s extremely unlikely that you
31:53
are going to break the rules you don’t
31:56
need to worry about the rules the rules
31:58
are only for people who still need them
32:02
the rules who are for persons who are so
32:05
unsure or lack the discipline necessary
32:12
to live in a world or in society or to
32:14
practice an art form or self-discovery
32:16
know they need those rules those rules
32:17
are good they help you someone is saying
32:20
listen Charlie if you do this you’re
32:24
gonna get in trouble and you’ll suffer
32:25
if you do this you’ll feel better and
32:26
those rules are true and they’re logical
32:29
and sensible and they’ve been set down
32:31
to help you but you can reach a point in
32:34
self-discovery where the rules don’t
32:36
mean anything anymore
32:38
you would never violate them that’s not
32:41
your interest but in spite of the fact
32:44
that you’ve followed the rules and now
32:46
have no interest in doing anything else
32:48
till something’s lacking in your life
32:50
you’re still in the samsara you have
32:53
enough knowledge but your knowledge
32:54
isn’t complete Tantra is good for such a
32:57
person Tantra involves radical change a
33:04
change in states of awareness remember I
33:08
said the principal danger for people who
33:11
practice self-discovery for many years
33:13
obviously aside from egotism is
33:17
complacency you can’t be complacent you
33:20
must do new things and have new
33:22
experiences but you see people who
33:24
practice spirituality for a long time
33:28
grown to the point where they don’t
33:30
really want much to do with the world
33:31
because you go out into the world and
33:33
the world is grody and grungy the people
33:38
of the world are so fixated on basic
33:43
things pleasure pain senseless things
33:47
like that but to be around them at times
33:49
is almost painful and so a person who
33:55
practices self-discovery for many years
33:57
works at a very simple lifestyle where
34:00
they kind of dodged the waves but they
34:03
get fixated in it they forget that God
34:07
is in those people who seem to be low
34:10
vibe as much as God is in an enlightened
34:13
person they get trapped by spirituality
34:17
itself now you can’t get trapped by
34:19
spirituality itself again if I can come
34:21
back to this point until you’ve really
34:24
done it correctly this won’t work for
34:27
you Tantra won’t work unless you’ve been
34:29
trapped by spirituality you have to be
34:33
trapped by spirituality before you can
34:34
be liberated from it spirituality
34:37
self-discovery is a tremendous trap it’s
34:41
one of the biggest traps there is but
34:43
you must be trapped by it because you
34:48
are now trapped by the world and the
34:50
world appearance so you need to get out
34:53
of the trap of the world appearance and
34:55
get stuck in the trap of spirituality
34:56
it’s a healthier trap it doesn’t hurt as
34:59
much then you need to move from that
35:02
trap to the trap of Tantra and then from
35:09
there
35:14
back to the world cuz Tantra means to
35:16
come back to the world it’s a circle
35:19
self-realization is a circle we run away
35:23
from the things of the world because
35:25
they seem to harm us we leave them we
35:29
progress spiritually now we need to go
35:32
back into the world again into careers
35:34
into relationships into all of those
35:39
things and see God in all of them that’s
35:41
Tantra that in spite of your advanced
35:48
spirituality and fight it in spite of
35:50
your high consciousness when you think
35:53
you should be up on top of the mountain
35:55
just contemplating all day you’ll find
35:56
yourself in the middle of the traffic
35:57
jam you’ll find yourself talking to
36:00
someone you’ll find yourself working in
36:02
an office that’s advanced yoga advanced
36:07
yoga is not withdrawal from the world
36:08
that’s a preliminary state which is
36:12
important to go through when you pull
36:14
back and still a person who practices
36:18
Tantra will pull back at times because
36:21
God isn’t pulling back – but the person
36:26
who practices Tantra embraces life in
36:28
the world
36:29
it’s formlessness and in its form Tantra
36:33
is the yoga of this age remember all of
36:37
the other paths exist in Tantra Tantra
36:40
does not disagree with any of them that
36:43
is to say one day you practice yani yoga
36:44
the next day bhakti karma this or that
36:47
because Tantra yoga is not going to
36:49
disagree Tantra yoga is all yoga it
36:54
includes all yoga but it does not
36:57
exclude anything the other yoga’s
37:00
include but they also exclude Tantra
37:03
includes without excluding
37:10
one sees God and everything
37:19
so on the dark day in a dark time when
37:31
everything is frustrating and depressing
37:33
what you need to do is first to meditate
37:40
to just sit even if it seems you’re not
37:42
meditating well and think of all the
37:48
beautiful and wonderful experiences that
37:50
you’ve ever had in your life just take
37:53
five minutes and quickly review holding
37:55
each image just for a moment in your
37:57
mind the beautiful places the power
37:59
places you’ve been experiences with
38:01
nature people you love bring it all
38:04
together just take five minutes and scan
38:08
very quickly through the good
38:11
experiences in your life by that I mean
38:13
is the what you would consider to be the
38:15
spiritually evolved experiences the
38:16
higher moments when you’ve touched a
38:19
deeper reality and by doing that you’ll
38:26
really can something in yourself then
38:29
once you’ve done that even if you still
38:31
feel terrible
38:33
do something break your pattern instead
38:42
of going to work that day Roma shopping
38:47
mall is why I love shopping malls and
38:50
see that all the people in that shopping
38:53
mall who could care less about
38:54
self-discovery and spirituality or God
38:57
go to a movie and see that God is the
39:05
movie go to Disneyland go away for the
39:11
weekend just buy a ticket someplace
39:14
surprise yourself
39:15
put it on your charge card and go with a
39:19
friend or by yourself to the mountains
39:21
someplace to a ski resort even if you
39:24
don’t ski that’s true Tantra be a little
39:28
bit
39:29
crazy break out remember the things that
39:32
made you happy in those past years that
39:34
gave you that high moment
39:36
were they experiences with people with
39:38
the experiences in nature what what were
39:40
what brought you to the path of
39:42
self-discovery that was your Tantra
39:45
don’t go back to those same places but
39:50
grab onto that essential energy that you
39:53
used and use it again only in the next
40:02
step in the next phase so if going into
40:07
nature gave you wonderful experiences
40:08
rowing through the fields and hills
40:11
don’t go back to the same fields and
40:13
Hills go to some new ones whatever it
40:19
was that brought the magic for you bring
40:24
it back again invoke it by remembering
40:26
it but then doing something be radical
40:29
because there is nothing radical you
40:31
only think so
40:39
and then you’ll catch fire again because
40:44
you’ll see that what happened was you
40:46
the reason you feel so miserable is
40:47
because you put spirituality into a form
40:50
you boxed it you franchised it
40:53
you sold it around the country you
40:57
decided that spirituality was a certain
40:59
way and then you programmed yourself to
41:01
being on that way and perhaps it was for
41:03
a while but then you got stuck in the
41:04
way and now you’re unhappy because
41:07
you’re not doing what your soul wants
41:10
your soul wants experience it wants the
41:12
world you’re human and your eternal and
41:17
the two are the same
41:19
don’t run away from your humanity that’s
41:22
what you’re trying to do don’t be afraid
41:25
to go back in now that you’ve been out
41:28
for a long time and experience a little
41:32
pain and a little suffering and a little
41:35
transitory joy because God exists in
41:39
those things too and your avoidance of
41:42
them of these experiences is a fixation
41:47
and it binds you to this world it binds
41:53
you to the personal self so it’s kind of
41:57
crazy this Tantra stuff in other words
41:58
after many years of meditation
42:00
self-discovery and devoting your life to
42:02
God studying with the teacher different
42:04
teachers or just being by yourself but
42:06
really working on it and you finally
42:10
give up everything all the things that
42:12
you’re supposed to avoid then you find
42:16
out that there’s nothing you’re supposed
42:17
to avoid yet there are things that are
42:19
good to avoid I mean you shouldn’t run
42:23
around killing people or eating meat or
42:26
doing things like that that’s not what
42:27
we mean by Tantra again there’s no need
42:31
to break the rules the rules have become
42:35
your life
42:37
they’re your discipline but we don’t
42:41
have to think about it anymore
42:43
you’re a free perceiver go out into the
42:45
world and have experiences
42:50
adventures it’s the adventure that is
42:52
Tantra that energy that Kundalini don’t
42:58
be afraid to be with new people change
43:01
it around because you’ve gotten stuck
43:05
that’s why you feel that you’re in a
43:07
dark time on a dark day in a dark world
43:12
all the other forms work all the other
43:15
yoga’s work but you’re stuck in them so
43:20
Tantra then is for the advanced
43:22
spiritual practitioner who is ready to
43:27
push aside spiritual practice in the
43:30
name of spiritual practice good luck
